City bears hot blasts from Balochistan

Met dept says mercury likely to simmer down to 34 degrees Celsius by Friday

The temperature remained high in the city for the third day as well.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on Wednesday, the city's maximum temperature was recorded at 39.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum was 27 degrees Celsius early in the morning.

Per the PMD weather synopsis, the hot spell would likely ease from Friday and the weather was expected to remain moderate.

For now, the metropolis bore gusts of hot winds from the deserts of Balochistan. By midday, the dry winds had usurped the moisture in the city's air on the shore of the Arabian Sea.

The humidity was down to 15 per cent by afternoon as gusts of hot wind blew through the city.

According to the forecast released by the PMD Early Warning Center of the Meteorological Department, the hot spell may continue today (Thursday), during which the mercury may exceed 40 degrees. However, the intensity of the heat is likely to decrease from Friday, during which it is expected to be partly cloudy and the maximum temperature may be recorded between 34 and 36 degrees.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the effects of the northwesterly hot desert winds of Balochistan on the city will be reduced to a large extent from Friday, the weather is likely to remain hot and dry in other areas of the province.
