A house fire in the Gatwala Amir Town area of Madina Town area claimed the lives of four siblings, including an infant of only six months on Wednesday.

The fire, triggered by a short circuit, swept through the residence of Jaffar Hassan.

The inferno engulfed the entire house, reducing it to ashes and tragically taking the lives of Ambar, the six-month-old baby, along with her brothers Arsalan, 8, Aiman, 6 and sister Noor Fatimah, 3.

Their father, Jaffar Hussain, 38, sustained injuries and was rushed to Allied Hospital for medical treatment by the rescue team.

Medical professionals from the burn unit reported that Jaffar Hussain suffered burns covering 30% of his body.

The authorities from Madina Town police responded to the scene, taking possession of the deceased bodies and conducting a post-mortem examination at the mortuary unit before returning them to the family.

In light of this tragic incident, the Regional Police Officer (RPO) has taken notice and formed a three-member investigative team, comprising SP Medina Town Shah Mir Khalid, ASP Circle People's Colony Zainab, and SHO Madina Town Umar Sarfaraz Waraich.

The team will conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the fire and submit a detailed report to the RPO.
