LONDON:

Ipswich squandered the chance to move into the Championship's automatic promotion places as Hull rescued a 3-3 draw on Saturday.

Kieran McKenna's side were just three minutes away from a priceless three points at the MKM Stadium.

But Hull's late leveller meant they remain in third place behind second placed Leeds on goal difference, while the draw kept Hull's play-off hopes alive.

George Hirst opened the scoring for Ipswich with a fine shot into the bottom corner in the 19th minute.

Hull drew level five minutes before half-time through Ozan Tufan but the visitors went back in front through Omari Hutchinson in first-half stoppage time.

Half-time substitute Liam Delap steered in Hull's second equaliser after 56 minutes, only for Hutchinson to grab his second 10 minutes later.

Noah Ohio fired Hull's third leveller of night into the roof of the net in the 87th minute.

Leeds, thrashed 4-0 at QPR on Friday, have played a game more than Ipswich, who will be promoted to the Premier League if they take four points from their last two matches.

Huddersfield are all but relegated after they drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers Birmingham at the John Smith's Stadium.

Both sides occupied places in the relegation zone before the match and things were made worse for Huddersfield on the stroke of half-time as Keshi Anderson's cross was swept home by Koji Miyoshi at the back post.

Rhys Healey's equaliser is unlikely to be enough to prevent the Terriers heading back down to League One, with their goal difference inferior by 15 to 21st-placed Plymouth, while Birmingham are one point adrift of safety.

Sheffield Wednesday took a huge step towards safety after goals from Anthony Musaba, Ike Ugbo and Josh Windass earned them a 3-0 victory over West Brom, who will need to book their place in the play-offs on the last day.

Wednesday need just a point to ensure their second-tier status.

Plymouth were beaten 1-0 by Millwall at The Den. Jake Cooper nodded home from Ryan Leonard's cross seven minutes from time to seal a fourth successive win for Neil Harris' men.

Stoke are safe from relegation after Tyrese Campbell's first-half finish earned a 1-0 victory over Southampton, who have to settle for a play-off place.

Blackburn were held to a 0-0 draw despite having 30 shots against 10-man Coventry, who had both defender Liam Kitching and manager John Eustace sent off.

Norwich drew 2-2 with Swansea and need just a point on the final day to secure a play-off place.

Middlesbrough ended their three-match winless run in style with a 4-1 victory over Cardiff.

Relegated Rotherham were beaten 2-0 at Bristol City, while Watford defeated Sunderland 1-0 for a first win in seven.
