PESHAWAR:

In a strategic move to conserve energy and enhance efficiency, Islamic Relief Pakistan has undertaken a key initiative, converting seven tube wells belonging to the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) to solar power at a cost of Rs35 million.

These tube wells, strategically located in areas including Bahadur Kale, Gule Baba, Audit Colony, Sarfaraz Colony, Shaheed Abad No. 2, Sarai Karim Bakhsh, Regi Lalmah, and Garhi Mohammad Gul, have been equipped with solar power technology, thereby significantly reducing dependency on conventional electricity sources.

Moreover, to optimize operational control and minimize water wastage, a state-of-the-art Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition automation system has been integrated.
