The newly appointed Balochistan Home Minister, Mir Ziaullah Langove, vowed to bring the elements behind recent acts of terrorism to book. The minister chaired a high level meeting to review security arrangements in Balochistan on Monday.

The gathering, attended by top officials including Additional Chief Secretary Home Zahid Saleem, delved into a comprehensive assessment of the security landscape.

The officials thoroughly briefed the minister about the overall security situation in Balochistan.

Emphasizing a robust strategy to counter terrorism, home minister underscored the imperative for concerted efforts from all stakeholders to maintain law and order situation in the province.

“The era of witnessing senseless loss of lives must end,” he asserted, urging collective responsibility from both institutions and citizens.

Key highlights of the meeting encompassed a thorough examination of the regional dominance plan, zero-terrorism strategy, and tactics to curb smuggling and illegal activities.

The minister issued stern directives, affirming a zero-tolerance stance against corruption within security forces, with stringent measures slated for errant officials.

Furthermore, the imperative for enhanced coordination between police and Levies forces was accentuated, with a call to leverage local intelligence for proactive interventions. Minister Langove stressed the adoption of biometric systems across institutions to streamline attendance and curb absenteeism.

The meeting also scrutinized the performance of pertinent departments, with the Civil Defense and Prison sectors deemed unsatisfactory. Minister Langove admonished underperforming officials, emphasizing the need for adherence to protocols and timely relief for detainees.

Echoing the government’s unwavering commitment, participants affirmed a resolute stance against terrorism.
