For the first time since Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis was revealed, Prince William will be fulfilling his first official duty this week.
On Thursday April 18th, he will spotlight community and environmental organisations in London and Surrey for their hard work towards sustainable living, as reported by Kensington Palace on Tuesday.
The Prince of Wales will visit two food distribution charities: Surplus to Supper in Sunbury-on-Thames, and a youth center in West London.
The Prince of Wales took some time off to take care of his wife during her treatment period, and their three children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8), and Prince Louis (5), during their school break.
When Kate announced her cancer diagnosis, People Magazine announced that William would return to public royal duties with careful consideration of his wife and children’s needs.
Kate’s parents have reportedly been assisting the royal couple during Kate’s recovery by helping to take the children to school.
While the couple have been on break from royal duties, they have not entirely stopped their outings.
On April 11, William took his eldest son George and a friend to watch their beloved soccer team Aston Villa. Following the game, in which the Birmingham-based team triumphed 2-1, William confirmed his son's allegiance to Villa.
When asked if Prince George was now "part of the pride," a term used by Villa supporters, William responded affirmatively, according to sports journalist Neil Moxley, who shared the exchange on X (formerly Twitter).

During their vacation, William and Kate resurfaced on social media to express their condolences and solidarity with Australians affected by a stabbing incident in a Sydney shopping mall that claimed six lives.
