A one-year-old boy died after jumping from his father's lap in a shopping mall and falling to the lower floor.

The police handed over the body to the family after completing legal formalities.

The father of the deceased, Aziz, had gone for shopping along with his family at the shopping mall located on Canal Road.

He was carrying his two children when Abdullah fell from the second to the first floor and was severely injured. A rescue team reached the spot and provided medical aid but the boy succumbed to his injuries.

Madina Town Police handed over the body to the heirs.

Meanwhile, two people including a woman died in traffic accidents, while seven others, including two women and a six-year-old girl, were injured in road traffic crashes. The police shifted the bodies to hospitals and started a search for the drivers responsible for the accidents.

Zuhran Bibi was crossing a road near Nalewala in Chak Jhumra when a speeding car ran over her. She was shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to the injuries.

Meanwhile in Sahyanwala, an unidentified 40-year-old man was hit by an unknown vehicle. As he fell on the road, several vehicles passed over him, due to which he died on the spot.

The police took possession of both the bodies for investigation.

In another accident, Ataullah, Salim, Arshad Bibi, 60 year old Noor Fatima, 40-year-old Halimaan Bibi and Arif were injured near Satyana Road.
