The weather of Karachi turned pleasant on Sunday after the port city received mostly light to moderate rainfall with some spells of heavy thundershowers in various areas.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted another rain spell in Karachi on April 17 and 18 due to the presence of westerlies in the region.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Nazimabad at 21.2 mm while Gulshan-e-Hadid received 20 mm, Faisal Base 17, Masroor Base and Kemari 16 mm, North Karachi and Saadi Town 15 mm, Orangi 14.4 mm, Korangi 14.5 mm, Old Airport 11.9 mm, DHA 5.5 mm while Surjani Town recorded 3 mm of rain.
The mervury following the showers is expected to vary between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Radar showed heavy rain clouds moving from the West and South-West towards the East of Karachi while satellite data also predicted intermittent rain throughout the day.

With western winds prevalent across the country, rural districts of Sindh including Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Qamber Shahdadkot are likely to experience thundershowers.
The metropolis saw cloudy weather on Saturday with a maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius with 66% humidity, while Mithi in rural Sindh recorded the highest temperature at 39.5 degrees Celsius.
The PMD had predicted moderate rain and gale in the city on Sunday, while earlier the Met Department predicted moderate rain and gale with thunderstorms due to the formation of thundercells in the suburbs of the city on Saturday.
