Karachi likely to get heavy showers on Sunday

PMD weather forecast says drizzle expected at outskirts on Saturday

KARACHI:

The city is expected to experience partly cloudy weather today [Saturday], with a chance of rain in a few areas.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on Sunday, a rain system is likely to bring dust storm, thunderstorms across Karachi, followed by heavy rains, and gusty winds.

PMD Early Warning Centre predicted that a fresh wave of western winds is currently impacting the upper regions of the country.

The forecast indicates heavy downpours are anticipated in certain areas during this period, along with strong winds and possible gales. The rainfall is expected to result in a reduction in the prevailing heat intensity.

PMD suggested that Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Nowshero Feroze, Hyderabad and other cities may also experience rain with thunderstorms.

On Friday, the temperature in Karachi was recorded at 34.5 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 57%.
