DIG traffic visits city markets

DIG reiterated that the focus remains on ensuring a hassle-free commute

KARACHI:

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of traffic, Ahmed Nawaz visited various markets in the city, including Zainab Market, Allahwala Market, and Tariq Road on Saturday and assured the shopkeepers of continuous presence of traffic police officers to facilitate smooth flow of traffic in the wake of upcoming festival of Eidul Fitr. Alongside male officers, female staff of the traffic department is also present to perform their duties. Meanwhile, in an effort to enhance traffic management, additional personnel have been deployed across market areas.

The DIG reiterated that the focus remains on ensuring a hassle-free commute. It was also announced that until 5pm in Ramazan, officers will abstain from issuing traffic citations, allowing citizens to enjoy uninterrupted travel during the iftar period. Shoppers visiting these markets are urged to utilise designated parking areas, enhancing traffic efficiency and ensure convenience for all.
