Qadir backs youngsters to perform in England

LAHORE: Former Pakistan chief selector Abdul Qadir believes that there is no harm in using youngsters on the challenging tour of England.

“Until or unless they are handed a chance, how would you evaluate them at the highest level,” said Qadir who is expecting no miracles from the Shahid Afridi-led team in England. “Everyone is saying that it’s not appropriate to take youngsters on this tour but I don’t think that’d be the case.”

Qadir also questioned all-rounder Abdul Razzaq’s role and place in the team.

“He’s an all-rounder who isn’t giving his hundred per cent. His body language is not like what it should be. Pakistan should move ahead and instead of Razzaq, they should try Rana Naved ul Hasan as he looked more passionate about the game and performed with bat and ball which is what an all-rounder is in the team for.”
