Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro University of Arts, Design and Heritage, Jamshoro, Deputy Director Finance Asif Ali Sher, facing harassment charges, has been suspended after the Human Rights Directorate Sindh, took notice. On Saturday, teams of Human Rights Directorate officials visited the varsity and recorded statements. Sher was accused of harassing a lecturer Rahila Awan at the university. The directorate on Friday also wrote to DIG Hyderabad and the cyber wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to conduct a probe and submit a preliminary report within three days. Awan had accused Sher for making overtures and allegedly for sending her objectionable messages. The directorate also noted in its letter that Awan had submitted written complaints against the deputy director to DSP Girls Rescue Centre Jahangir Ansari but the police failed to take action. The directorate also asked the police to provide her protection.
