Seven members of a family were rendered unconscious after eating bakery items on Sunday. According to police officials, Chak No389 resident Adnan and his family fainted after eating items from a local bakery near the City Sammundri police station. Soon after eating bakery items Adnan Rasool, Zahida Bano, Abdullah, 16, Mariyam, 12, Asadullah, 9, Abdul Ghani and Javeria, 10 began vomiting and fainted. The family was shifted to the THQ Hospital Sammundri for treatment. Sammundri assistant commissioner Tanveer Murtarza and SHO Masood Nazi have closed off the bakery and seized its stocks.
Samples of several food items have been sent to a laboratory for testing. Police officials have registered a case and the family is undergoing treatment.
