Former special assistant to the prime minister (SAPM) Fahd Haroon was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of Pakistan Day, joining the ranks of prominent individuals recognised for their outstanding contributions.

This accolade serves as a testament to Haroon's exemplary work in the field of media and digital advocacy, highlighting his significant impact both nationally and internationally.

Haroon's expertise and dedication in championing Pakistan's interests on various digital platforms have garnered widespread acclaim.

He has played a pivotal role in elevating Pakistan's presence and amplifying its voice on the global stage, effectively countering the multifaceted threats posed by terrorism in today's interconnected world.

At the forefront of his endeavours is Haroon's relentless effort to combat extremism and promote a narrative of peace and tolerance. Through strategic initiatives, he has worked tirelessly to dismantle extremist networks, disrupt their communication channels, and curtail the dissemination of radical ideologies.

Previously, Fahd served as minister of state/special assistant to the prime minister (SAPM) of caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and as SAPM/minister of state on public communication and digital platforms in the Shehbaz Sharif-led PDM government.

He also held the position of focal person to the PM on information analytics and special assistant to Sindh CM on media affairs.

He has held leadership positions in international and local media houses, including chairman of the press and electronic media committee of the FPCCI and membership in the Pakistan Broadcasters Association.

Fahd serves on the advisory committees of several prominent educational institutions, and his leadership has been recognised by numerous industry awards.
