Municipal charges in
KE bills
A two-member bench headed by Justice Salahuddin Panhwar heard the petitions against the collection of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation municipal charges in electricity bills.
KMC's lawyer argued that the government has just been formed, so give us some time for arguments. The petitioner's lawyer, Tariq Mansoor Advocate, stated that the case has been pending since last year. The court inquired from Tariq Mansoor advocate whether he has filed any new application.
Tariq Mansoor Advocate stated that the application was filed several months ago, and notices have been issued. "I have four cases against the Mayor of Karachi and have received numerous threats, putting my life at risk. I urge for a swift resolution to these cases within my lifetime. Recently, I was attacked by 20 individuals at the mayor's office. The police have advised me to omit the names of influential individuals, including the mayor of Karachi, but are unwilling to register a case," he said.
The court adjourned the hearing till March 13. The court extended the ongoing injunction against collection of municipal charges in electricity bills.
