In an unexpected turn of events, Pakistani singer Asim Azhar's scheduled performance for a local event in Lahore on Monday has been abruptly cancelled, leading to speculation among fans about the situation. The singer in question took to his Instagram handle to shed more light on what went on between him and the organisers who officially communicated the event’s cancellation via an IG post.
“It is intimated that Mr Asim Azhar will not be available to perform on the 4th of March, 2024 in the Lahore event as announced earlier due to unforeseen circumstances. New schedule will be announced soon. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted,” read the post.
However, Asim put up the same post on his IG Story, expressing his disbelief and disputing the organisers' claims in the overlaying text. Asim wrote, “Not available? Lol. This is untrue. My team and I are available on the committed date. Been getting a lot of messages regarding this.”
The singer maintained, “There are no 'unforeseen circumstances' from our side. My management has just been informed that the show is being postponed without us being given a genuine reason.”
Asim went on to urge his followers who had purchased tickets for the event to seek clarification from the organisers and request refunds. He stated, “I request everyone who bought tickets to ask the institution for the actual reason and get your tickets refunded.”
In a follow-up Story, he continued to relay his frustration, saying, “And if they don't tell you the reason, then we'll do some research and let u guys know.”
The controversy has left the Jo Tu Na Mila singer’s fans and followers in a state of confusion, with the conflicting statements from the event organisers and the singer. As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen whether the true reason behind the cancellation will come to light and how it will impact the future scheduling of the concert.
