The swearing-in ceremony of Shahbaz Sharif, the 24th Prime Minister of the country, was held in the President's House in Islamabad on Monday.

The premier was administered the oath by President Arif Alvi at the President House.

Caretaker Prime Minister, Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly, Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, four Governors, four Chief Ministers and top military and civil leadership participated in the event.

COAS Gen Asim Munir also graced the occasion, greeted with resounding chants of "Pakistan Zindabad" upon his arrival. Engaging with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the army chief exchanged smiles, maintaining a friendly atmosphere.

Meanwhile, in the backdrop, Asif Ali Zardari, the nominated candidate of the Pakistan Peoples Party for the presidency, was observed with a cheerful demeanor.

During the event, Bilawal also took a moment to inquire about Maryam Nawaz's well-being.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, the newly sworn-in premier was presented guard of honour at the Prime Minister House.
