Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday proposed a charter of national reconciliation to improve political stability and address issues relating to the country.
He made this proposal while addressing a news conference at the Chief Minister Secretariat.
The newly elected Balochistan Chief Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, and leaders from the PPP Balochistan were also present on the occasion.
"I suggested this to the prime minister-designate Shehbaz Sharif as well," the PPP chairman said while referring to political instability and other issues, the country is currently facing.
In response to a question, Bilawal suggested the formation of a parliamentary committee from the Balochistan Assembly to address the issue of missing persons.
"As the PPP alone cannot resolve issues relating to Balochistan, all [parties] will have to join hands," he said.
He highlighted that the PPP would work with all stakeholders, both inside and outside the provincial assembly, to address the problems confronting Balochistan.
He expressed his intention to govern by conciliatory thinking of his late mother, Benazir Bhutto, who advocated for inclusive and cooperative governance.
A meeting was held with Chief Minister Bugti and coalition parties, where Bilawal conveyed his commitment to implementing the PPP's ideology in the province.
He stressed the significance of involving all political parties and stakeholders, both within and outside parliament, in the process of finding solutions to the challenges faced by Balochistan.
Acknowledging the magnitude of the issues in the region, Bilawal stated that attempting to tackle them as an individual or a single political entity would be challenging.
He called for unity among all parties to collectively address the concerns of the people, emphasising the need for positive and collaborative efforts.
Expressing concern at the recent damages in Gwadar due to heavy downpours, Bilawal requested Chief Minister Bugti to make it his first official visit to the port city.
He also pledged to arrange relief efforts for the people affected by the recent downpours, underlining the PPP's commitment to minimising the sacrifices made by the people of Balochistan.
