Veteran Indian star Naseeruddin Shah has taken to social media and pointed out that one of his memoirs is being pirated in Pakistan. The actor's 2014 book And Then One Day is being sold, translated into Urdu, in the country illegally, Shah shared on Facebook on Sunday.

"Evidently, an unauthorised Urdu translation of my book of memoirs called, And Then One Day, has been published in Pakistan and is on sale there," the renowned actor penned. "I wish to state that I have nothing to do with this translation and intend to take legal action to stop its sale. I would like to request friends there to refrain from buying this book." Many commented on Shah's post, prompting him to take legal action against the publishers.

In And Then One Day, Shah, with his characteristic wit and candidness, takes readers on a compelling odyssey from his early years to the pinnacle of success. The memoir delves into his formative experiences, providing glimpses into the influences that shaped him as an actor and a person. From his childhood in a Muslim family in Barabanki to his days at the prestigious National School of Drama, Shah's narrative weaves together the threads of his diverse life experiences.

As per The Express Tribune's review of the book, "the memoir is worth reading for any fan, filmmaker, theatre producer or acting student. Neither preachy nor academic, the unflinching look back at the life of one of the greatest actors alive today is a treat not to be missed."

It further read, "For many, a Naseeruddin Shah play, film or dramatic reading feels like a ploy to bring all these generations closer together. While the young Shah would scoff at the very idea, the older Shah we have inherited from our parents would possibly fully endorse it."
