PTI Sindh president released in May 9 rioting case

The An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday ordered the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh President Haleem Adil Shaikh in May 9 rioting case, registered against him at Firozabad police station.

The court, while hearing the case at ATC Complex inside the Central Jail, ordered that Shaikh be released from jail if not implicated in any other case.

Haleem was granted bail on February 10 in the May 9 case. The court approved his release against a surety bond of Rs100,000, specifying that Shaikh should be released unless he is involved in another legal matter.

Meanwhile, Shah Nawaz Jadoon, an independent candidate belonging to PTI from PS-115 challenged the recount process in the Sindh High Court.

He claimed that he has succeeded by bagging 20,820 votes according to forms 45, 47 and 49. Muhammad Asif of Pakistan Peoples Party was in the second position with 19,107 votes from the same constituency.
