Two held for illegal use of loudspeaker

Police arrested two men for allegedly using the sound system on the rickshaw for the election campaign of the Awami Muslim League chief, Sheikh Rashid and the candidates participating in the elections on his election symbol Qalam Dawat (Pen, Inkpot) and seized the rickshaw and the sound system.

According to the police, the case was registered at the Sadiqabad police station. ASI Naveed Ahmed took a stand and while patrolling with his fellow officers, he reached the Sixth Road where a loader rickshaw was found on the side of the road with electoral symbol, Qalam Dawat, and a sound system was also being used.

Two people on the rickshaw saw the police and tried to flee but the police arrested them. They were identified as Waheed Gul and Kamran. The accused violated the law by installing a loud sound system. A case has been registered.

The action was carried out late on Monday night and a few hours before that, the meeting of the PPP was in progress at Liaquat Bagh.
