ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad Capital Police have enforced Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in the federal capital and introduced strict measures for reporting of all election-related programmes to the respective police stations to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the upcoming elections.

According to a police spokesman, the enforcement has emphasised the significance of obtaining permission to organise any political gathering and that any unapproved assembly would be risking legal consequences under Section 144.

He said that the goal is to bolster security measures and prevent any potential clashes between rival groups, adding stringent measures have been put in place to mitigate the risk of conflicts and ensure a peaceful electoral process.
