A woman thrashed her elderly mother-in-law to death over a land dispute. According to local police officials, the victim, 85-year-old Majidan Bibi, a resident of Dhadiwala had a land dispute with her daughter-in-law Erum Naseer.
The daughter-in-law allegedly thrashed the elderly woman following a heated altercation over the dispute.
The victim fell down during the brawl and was severely injured. She died while being taken to a local hospital. Police handed over the body to the heirs after completing legal formalities.
The area police arrested the suspect and registered a case against her on the basis of the statement of a so of the deceased woman, Ijaz Mustafa, a resident of Chishtiya Park.
Officials of the local police station said they were investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, Tandlianwala police registered a case against a man on the charges of manhandling a cleric after barging into a mosque to avenge an earlier quarrel between them.

The imam of Jamia Masjid Hussain bin Ali, Hafiz Muhammad Nauman, had filed a complaint in the area police station, stating that he had been serving in the mosque for the past 22 years.
He said he had a bitter altercation a few days earlier with the suspect, Hussain.
The complainant stated that the suspect had entered the mosque, threatened to kill and manhandled him because of their earlier quarrel.
He said the suspect had used foul language inside the mosque. The police registered a case against the suspect and officials said they were carrying out raids to arrest him.
Gas leakage
A man his wife suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out in a room because of gas leakage leading to an explosion.
Rescue workers arrived on the spot and doused the fire. They also shifted both the victims to a hospital after providing them urgent medical aid. Officials of the rescue service said leakage from a gas heater left on in the room in a house on Millat Road had caused the fire.
