Mobile app to bolster polling security

Features include efficient provision, supply of polling material, ensuring staff presence

The Lahore Police Operations Wing is set to launch a dedicated application to enhance security measures during the upcoming General Elections.

Lahore DIG Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi announced that the app would be installed on the mobile phones of all personnel assigned to polling stations, aiding not only vigilance teams but also allowing top command to monitor election security comprehensively.

The app's features include the efficient provision and supply of polling material, ensuring staff presence throughout their duty duration, and immediate notification in case of any disruption or halt in polling.

Geo-tagging of all polling stations and staff will be implemented, facilitating seamless navigation for the staff.

In case of SOP violations, the app enables staff to promptly report incidents.

Rizvi emphasised, "The prime purpose of developing the app is to stay updated about the moment-to-moment situation of all the polling stations.
