Man slits friend’s throat over minor dispute

Locals apprehends accused and his accomplices as they tried to escape, promptly handing to police

PAKPATTAN:

A suspect brutally murdered his friend by slashing his throat with a knife during a Milaad celebration, following a minor disagreement.

The victim, 20-year-old Salman Watto, succumbed to the attack in excruciating pain.

The locals apprehended the accused and his accomplices as they tried to escape, promptly handing them over to the police, who have now filed charges against the suspects.

The gruesome event unfolded in Mohalla Pir Karyan, within the jurisdiction of the City police station. The accused, Shehbaz, invited Salman Watto to his home ostensibly for a Milaad celebration but ended up fatally attacking him over a minor altercation.

Watto lost his life on the spot. Witnesses from the area intercepted Shehbaz and his associates as they attempted to flee, ensuring their detention until the arrival of the police.

Upon receiving the report, DPO Pakpattan Tariq Wilayat promptly reached the scene. The DPO assured the victim's family of a thorough investigation and extended condolences to them. Following a post-mortem examination, the police released the body to the family and took Shehbaz into custody.
