In the upcoming general elections, a total of 5,336 polling stations have been set up across seven districts in Karachi Division.
Notably, all these polling stations have been labeled as either sensitive or highly sensitive, with the exception of 128 polling stations in district east, which have been declared normal.
District west stands out with all its 676 polling stations classified as highly sensitive.
To ensure the safety and well-being of voters, the Provincial Health Department has issued directives for the establishment of medical camps at various locations.
As per the issued directives, ambulances will be on standby to address any emergencies that may arise on the polling day scheduled for February 8.
Breaking down the numbers, Malir district will host 562 polling stations, with 383 deemed sensitive and 179 highly sensitive.

In Korangi district, out of 752 polling stations, 170 are classified as sensitive and 582 as highly sensitive.
District East is set to have 910 polling stations, with only 128 marked as normal, 311 as sensitive, and 471 as highly sensitive. South District will see 306 sensitive and 279 highly sensitive out of 585 polling stations.
In Keamari district, 345 polling stations are sensitive, while 251 are highly sensitive out of a total of 596. District central, with 1,255 polling stations, will have 655 classified as sensitive and 600 as highly sensitive.
On a related note, the health department has issued a letter instructing the setup of medical camps at different locations on the polling day.
Paramedical staff will be deployed with necessary medical facilities and medicines, and ambulances will be on standby to handle any emergency situations.
The Election Commission is expected to release the final polling scheme for all national and provincial constituencies soon.
