AUR the band, a rising music sensation, recently found themselves in the spotlight after joining forces with none other than Zayn Malik for a recreation of their hit single "Tu Hai Kahan." The trio, consisting of Usama Ali, Ahad Khan, and Raffey Anwar, recently sat down with BBC's Haroon Rashid to shed light on the intriguing journey behind their collaboration and their sudden rise to fame.

During the interview, Haroon acknowledged the magnitude of their collaboration, stating, "You have collaborated with one of the biggest music stars on the planet." Raffey Anwar revealed that Zayn Malik had reached out to them after their song gained popularity in India, expressing his admiration for their work. Ahad Khan added, "The people from Sony told us that we are going to do a collab. Without even thinking, my first reaction was, ‘I hope it’s with Zayn.’ I didn’t know that it was actually going to happen."

Upon learning about the global reach of their music, the band members expressed their initial disbelief. Raffey shared, "We kept bothering our management for three days to be sure that this was actually happening." Ahad chimed in, revealing their scepticism upon receiving Zayn's vocals, stating, "We thought that this is AI generated. We also thought, ‘mazaak horaha hai hamaray sath’ (we are being played with)."

Haroon also pointed out how many on Twitter were suggesting that the AUR boys had familial ties to Zayn Malik. "Haan meri phuppi ka beta hai Zayn (Yes, he’s my aunt’s son),” Ahad humorously responded. "People keep messaging us, asking us to get them a birthday wish from Zayn Malik,” further revealed Raffey.

When questioned about their friends and family's reactions to the success of their song, Usama shared, "They really like it." Ahad held, "They feel proud." While Raffey revealed that his mother is actively involved in keeping him informed about the ongoing developments, emphasizing the strong support from their close circles.

Haroon, with a touch of humor, pointed out that with newfound fame, attention from previously disinterested parties (girls) might have increased. The band members laughed in agreement, acknowledging the sudden surge in their phones ringing. Ahad humorously noted, "It’s a fact! Our phones keep ringing."

The camaraderie and humour displayed by the band members offer fans a glimpse into the genuine and down-to-earth personalities behind the rising stars. As their music continues to resonate globally, AUR the band remains a fascinating example of talent meeting opportunity in the ever-evolving landscape of music.
