The police arrested 763 suspected criminals, including 163 proclaimed offenders (POs) and 131 court absconders (CAs), from different parts of Faisalabad during the past fortnight.
Spokesman Nawaz said on Wednesday that police netted 160 illicit weapon-holders and recovered 118 pistols, five rifles, nine long guns, 7 Kalashnikovs, two repeaters, one revolver and 430 rounds of ammunition from them suspects during this period.

Similarly, police arrested 190 suspected drug-traffickers and recovered 49.35 kilogrammes of hashish, 1.56 kilogrammes of heroin, 5 kilogrammes of opium, 1,888 litres of liquor, 248 litres of raw liquor and 900 kilograms of poppy dust.
Additionally, police arrested 34 suspected gamblers, eight violators of the Rent Act, nine motorists with fake number-plates in their vehicles, 50 shopkeepers over illegal gas decanting and 11 firework sellers during the two-week period.
