Passenger with tampered passport held

Preliminary investigation reveals that arrested accused had initially traveled to Libya on visit visa

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Circle has arrested a passenger arrived from Libya with a tampered visa pages in his passport at Jinnah Terminal. An official from FIA said that the arrested passenger was identified as Sufyan Ali.

The pages of the passport he carried were tempered. He said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the
arrested accused had initially traveled to Libya on a visit visa and previously had obtained a visa to Italy through an agent in Gujarat for Rs2.6 million.

However, the accused failed to travel to Italy on the fake visa sticker and subsequently removed the fraudulent visa from his passport, said the official. Sufyan, hailing from Gujranwala, has been handed over to the anti human trafficking circle
in Karachi for further legal proceedings.
