The family was living as tenants on the first floor of a house in the colony. Police suspect personal enmity as the reason behind the killing as the police were informed that Ghori, who hailed from Hyderabad, was not in good relations with some of his family members.

However, the police said it will be early to rule out involvement of the suspects from outside the family. Ghori was a labourer while his wife Meena worked as a maid in a public sector university in Jamshoro. DIG Hyderabad, Tariq Razzak Dharejo, took notice of the incident and sought a report from SSP Jamshoro district, Tariq Nawaz, who himself visited the crime scene.
