The Punjab Wildlife Department has announced that partridge and quail may be hunted only on Saturdays and Sundays during the season in the coming year.
The quail hunting season will be from August 15 to April 15 on Saturday and Sunday. A person may hunt maximum 12 quails. The partridge hunting season will be from August 1 to September 30 on the same days with the limit of six partridges.
A limit for hunting quails and partridges in a day will also apply.

The hunting licence fee for wild animals and birds included in schedule I and IV of the Punjab Wildlife (Protection, Preservation and Conservation) Act, 1974 has been set for 2024 at Rs2,000 for Pakistani citizens and Rs10,000 for foreigners.
However, separate permits must be obtained for hunting partridge, quail and waterfowl.
A permit will be issued for two days in a specified area during the season for hunting waterfowl included in Schedule I. A citizen may obtain maximum five permits during a season. The hunting permit fee is Rs500 for Pakistani citizens and Rs50,000 for foreign nationals.
Similarly, maximum three permits each will be issued for hunting partridge and quail on one day.
