Five dead as vehicle plunges into Dir ravine

Vehicle got out of control due to speeding

UPPER DIR:

At least five people, including two women, died while four others were injured when their double-cabin vehicle got out of the control of the driver and plunged into a ravine in the Salamkot area of the district.

The vehicle, part of a wedding caravan, plunged into the ravine due to speeding.

Driver Burhanuddin, son of Ghulam Rahim; Taura Bibi, wife of Wali Khan; Ihsanullah, son of Anwar Ali; Jibranullah, son of Islam; and Zoja Mairaj died.

The injured included Rahim Shad; Jalil, son of Wali Khan; Bacha Ghani, son of Rehmat Ghani; and Azharullah, son of Sirajuddin.

The people of the area shifted the injured to the Upper Dir District Headquarter Hospital where two of them were referred to Peshawar due to their critical condition.
