Couple held for drug trafficking

Accused admits supplying drugs to educational institutions as well

RAWALPINDI:

Naseerabad police team arrested a couple for their allegedly supplying drugs to educational institutions in Rawalpindi.

They also recovered four and a half kilograms of hashish from their possession.

The suspects were identified as Aamir and his wife Sheher Banu from Peshawar who were in Rawalpindi to supply drugs in the educational institutions in the twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The accused admitted that they had been supplying drugs to educational institutions as well.

CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani said that Rawalpindi police are determined to end the drug menace from the city.

On the same day, the Islamabad Capital police launched an awareness campaign in the federal capital to eradicate drug abuse and secure the young generation from the curse of narcotics.

As part of this initiative, the Capital Police Officer Safe city/Traffic conducted an enlightening lecture at Capital University of Science and Technology University (CUST), focusing on the damages of substance abuse and measures for prevention.
