'Animal' star Triptii Dimri to pair up with Kartik Aaryan for 'Aashiqui 3'

Film is scheduled to commence shooting in the first quarter of 2024

In a recent exclusive revelation by Pinkvilla, the much-anticipated Aashiqui franchise's third instalment, Aashiqui 3, has locked in Animal star and current internet obsession Triptii Dimri as the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan. 

After the announcement of their collaboration earlier this year, Bhushan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Kartik have stirred curiosity among audiences and the film industry, promising an unforgettable musical love story.

Triptii, the current sensation following the massive success of Animal, has been chosen to share the screen with the star known for his explosive, punchy monologues. A source close to the development disclosed to Pinkvilla, "Triptii has been the talk of the town following the historic success of Animal and the makers feel that she would set the screen on fire with Kartik Aaryan."

The source continued, "The conversations have been on for quite some time and the makers have now locked her as the female lead.” The team believes she will bring an aura that will complement Kartik's presence impeccably. 

Scheduled to commence shooting in the first quarter of 2024, the Anurag Basu directorial aims to captivate audiences with a distinct musical score and a compelling narrative. While other cast members are yet to be finalized, this marks Kartik's second venture into a franchise after the blockbuster success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

The film promises a departure from the actor's rom-com forte as he delves into the realm of intense romantic tales. "It's a new space for Kartik too," shared the source. "He will be looking to explore the intense side of romance. He has been a graduate of rom-coms and will now be switching zones to another world of love stories. He is also very excited to embark on this journey." Ahead of filming, both Kartik and Triptii will engage in workshops and script-reading sessions to dive into their roles and immerse themselves in the essence of the narrative.

With Aashiqui 3 gearing up to begin its cinematic journey, Kartik Aaryan is simultaneously preparing for another franchise film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, slated for a Diwali 2024 release. Kartik's involvement in diverse projects signifies his eagerness to explore multifaceted roles and narratives. Aashiqui 3 marks the first collaboration between Kartik and Triptii, promising compelling on-screen chemistry.
