QUETTA:

A Hindu trader was shot dead on Sunday, allegedly by extortionists, 700 kilometres south-west of Quetta. Police said Seth Ado Mal, who was also an ex-councillor, was opening his shop in main Hub town when armed assailants, after an argument, opened fire on him.

The business community closed their shops and businesses in protest, while members of the Hindu community blocked the main Karachi-Quetta highway.
