Govt to publish weekly disease response reports

Training of medical staff from nine districts has been completed

LAHORE:

The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department will publish weekly Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) Reports at the district level to share the ailment trends, outbreak alerts and crucial public health information with the public.

The move is aimed at promoting preventive measures among the communities, Caretaker Minister Dr Jamal Nasir said while addressing the closing session of a staff training workshop of the department.

He said a system for surveillance of the causes of diseases and immediate response had been prepared for coping with outbreaks in the province.

Training for the purpose of medical staff from nine districts has been completed.

Dr Nasir said all government hospitals, basic health units and rural health centres in Punjab had been computerized and the record of diseases and treatment of all patients was being saved.
