Additional Sessions Judge Noor Muhammad Bismil sentenced to death a man on the charge of murdering his newborn daughter in Mianwali.
A fine of Rs500,00 was also imposed on the accused, Shahzeb Khan.
The incident occurred last year Wandi Ghondwali within the jurisdiction of the city police station.
Shahzeb had cold-bloodedly shot and killed his six-day-old daughter, Jannat.
The incident had led to the registration of a case against Shahzeb Khan, who was subsequently arrested and the challan was presented in court.
In the courtroom on Wednesday, the additional sessions judge announced the verdict, sentencing him to death besides imposing the fine. The murderer was present during the announcement of the verdict.

The case, pursued by Asif Khan Madikhel advocate, unfolded when Shahzeb, blinded by regressive beliefs, viewed the birth of the girl child as a humiliation.
Despite receiving education from a reputable institution, Shahzeb’s mind-set led him to commit the murder, the prosecution had contended.
Upon learning of the incident, the area police had transferred the body to the Mianwali Hospital for postmortem and legal proceedings. He funeral prayers had been offered in Iskandrabad.
Expressing zero tolerance for such heinous crimes, Mianwali DPO Ismailur Rahman Kharak and other officers had pledged immediate action to ensure severe punishment in the case.
The maternal grandfather of the deceased girl, Nasrullah Khan, had lodged the case against his son-in-law. He revealed that the accused had taken the drastic step because the newborn was a girl and not a son.
