Efforts to boost white meat market urged

In commemoration of World Fisheries Day, experts stressed the critical role of awareness in promoting the significance of white meat in the market.

Speaking at the occasion organised by the PU Institute of Zoology, they emphasised the need for collaboration between industry and academia to achieve this goal.

Dr Khalid Mahmood highlighted the promotion of research work that benefits the country and its people.

He encouraged students to gain practical experience through internships and commended the Institute of Zoology for its role in improving PU's ranking. Dr Khalid Mahmood assured full support for the establishment of a fisheries department at PU.

Dr Abid Mehmood underscored the favorable environment for fish breeding in Pakistan, emphasizing the role of high-quality feeds in producing good fish.

He encouraged students to venture into entrepreneurship instead of traditional employment.

Dr Sikandar Hayat pledged continued cooperation to promote fish farming, aiming to contribute to the stability of the country's economy.

Dr Noor Khan highlighted ongoing research for the development of fish farming in Pakistan.
