Date announced: Hamza Ali Abbasi returns to TV with ‘Jaan-e-Jahan’ on December 22

Actor revealed in 2019 that he was taking an indefinite hiatus from showbiz

Marking the much-anticipated return of heartthrob actor Hamza Ali Abbasi, Jaan-e-Jahan has officially set its premiere date. The announcement was made on a local network’s social media, unveiling a new teaser. The post’s caption confirmed that the series' first episode is scheduled to grace prime time on December 22.

Adding to the hype, the post also revealed that viewers can expect a double treat each week, as two episodes of the serial will be broadcast at 8 pm every Friday and Saturday. Jaan-e-Jahan not only marks Hamza's comeback to television after a prolonged break but also reunites him with Pyarey Afzal co-star Ayeza Khan, creating a buzz among millions of fans who have eagerly awaited their on-screen reunion for a decade.

In addition to the dynamic lead duo, the ensemble cast boasts renowned names such as Nawal Saeed, Srha Asghar, Emmad Irfani, Zainab Qayyum, Haris Waheed, Savera Nadeem, Asif Raza Mir, Nausheen Shah, Mariyam Nafees, Saqib Sumeer, and Noor-ul-Hassan, among others. Jaan-e-Jahan’s directorial helm is in the capable hands of Qasim Ali Mureed, the mastermind behind hits like TV series Mere Humsafar and film Tich Button.

The initial glimpse into Jaan-e-Jahan showcases Hamza in a light that reflects both enigma and intensity. The intense gazes and his commanding presence reaffirm his stature as a performer destined for the screens. Even in the brief moments depicted in the first look shared on a local network's social media, the actor exudes a breathtaking charisma, serving as a poignant reminder that certain stars are tailor-made for the cinematic experience. 

The actor had initially taken to his official Instagram handle to share the news of his return to the TV screen, providing followers with a teaser of the upcoming project. In his post, he expressed his happiness in introducing the audience to the captivating world of their upcoming venture.

In 2019, the Waar heartthrob shocked fans after he revealed in a long YouTube video that he was taking an indefinite hiatus from entertainment. "My perspective of life has been changed since I realised that I have to meet my God. With this realisation, what I decided to do is that I now wish to talk to people. I wish to spread the message," he had said in a video. Hamza had then noted that he had just taken a long break that was being misconstrued as him leaving the industry altogether.
