The Sindh High Court (SHC) has admitted for hearing the appeals challenging the acquittal of former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and others in the Naqeebullah murder case. A two-judge bench, headed Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, gave the ruling on a petition on Wednesday.
Alam Sher, the petitioner's lawyer, argued that Rao Anwar and the other defendants were acquitted by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), which allegedly overlooked crucial evidence.

The petitioner prayed the court overturn the ATC verdict. The court summoned the comprehensive case record from the ATC while also ordering the prosecutor general of Sindh to submit a response.
