An eight-year-old child belonging to the Hamlet’s area of Ghazi reportedly drowned after falling into a canal.
A search operation was underway for the missing child’s recovery until the filing of this report. According to the locals, if the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) could charge excessive bills from the poor, it could also erect a large fence along the canal.

“We informed them [Wapda] a year ago that a large fence should be installed along the canal, but it has not been implemented so far,” they lamented. “The fences which have been erected within their limits should be erected on the canal banks as well,” they suggested and added that the precious life of the child was lost, but the Wapda turned a blind eye to it.
The locals demanded that a large fence should be erected on the bank of the canal.
