A young woman was brutally tortured to death by her inlaws in Mehran Town, Korangi, claims her parents. The body of 19-year-old Roma Saleem was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by her husband, Saleem, claiming she had died of natural causes.
However, her father and maternal uncle told police that the girl's in-laws had subjected her to severe torture, which led to her untimely death. The uncle of the deceased woman informed the police that he had spoken to Roma the previous night, and she was perfectly fine.
"On Sunday afternoon, we discovered that her condition had worsened, and she was subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital, where she passed away", he said.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Korangi stated that the cause of death would be determined after the postmortem report. Speaking to media representatives at Jinnah Hospital, Roma's father shared that his daughter had previously complained about physical and mental abuse by her husband and mother-in-law.

"We insisted that she should try to adjust in the new family. Only seven months into the marriage, and they killed my daughter," he cried.
Saleem, the husband of the deceased woman, claimed that he returned home from work at 12 o'clock on Saturday night, had dinner with his wife, and watched TV until 2:30 am. "On Sunday morning, I tried to wake my wife up, but she never woke up. We have been married for seven months, and my wife had no prior illnesses", he added.
The police were interrogating all the suspects involved in the matter.
