Anti-smog inspections of kilns continue

DERA GHAZI KHAN:

At least 159 brick kiln inspections were carried out and Rs400,000 worth of fine imposed over violations as part of an anti-smog campaign in Dera Ghazi Khan division during the past month.

The participants of a meeting presided over by the divisional commissioner were informed that 1,057 vehicles had been inspected and 119 of them barred from the roads over smoke emission. Fines worth Rs283,000 were imposed.

Awareness sessions regarding SMG were also organised at 24 spots.

Fine of Rs955,000 was imposed and 35 cases registered for violating a ban on burning crop residue and prohibited items.
