KARACHI:

Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) Rabita Committee has strongly condemned the tragic killing of a student from NED University and the son of the senior director of the Sports and Culture Department of Municipality Karachi during a street crime.

In an official statement issued on Friday, the committee extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving families of the victims.

The committee expressed deep concern about the prevailing lawlessness in Karachi, stating that the city is increasingly becoming a target for criminals who not only rob citizens on a daily basis but also resort to taking innocent lives for the sake of mobile phones. The committee raised suspicions regarding the role of the police in these incidents, describing it as highly questionable.

Alleging a history of corruption and bias within the government, particularly the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), over the past fifteen years, they claimed that fake domiciles were created, and people of their choice were recruited into the police force to support criminal elements.

They suggested that the current provincial caretaker government appears to be following a similar strategy, jeopardising the safety of the residents of the city.

The members of committee emphasised the apparent lack of concern for the lives and property of citizens, pointing out that the city is witnessing rampant criminal activities.

MQM Pakistan has demanded a thorough investigation and urged that those responsible for the youth's killing be brought to justice.
