The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Teaching Institutions Appellate Tribunal has issued notice to the Ayub Medical Teaching Institutions (AMTI) board of governors (BoGs), restraining them from taking any action against Abbottabad Ayub Medical College (AMC) Dean Professor Dr Umar Farooq.
In its verdict, the tribunal ordered the respondents to submit a reply at the next hearing.
The court ruled that the appellant was appointed after due process and he fetched benefits in terms of his appointment order and the respondent cannot pass any order detrimental to his service interest.

The appeal was filed by Professor Umar Farooq under section 16A of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MTI Reforms Act 2015. The board of governors through its chairman and director of finance were made parties to the case.
The appellant stated that he was appointed as dean of AMC after fulfilling all the legal formalities for five years.
The appointment notification was further followed by the employment agreement mutually agreed upon between the BoGs and the appellant.
