Over 8,000 students appear in entry test of KU

8,098 candidates appear in entry test, competing for 1,517 allocated seats

KARACHI:

A total of 8,098 candidates appeared in the entry test conducted for the morning session in Bachelors Science (BS), Bachelors of Education (B.Ed Hons), B.E. programmes, Doctor of Pharmacy [morning and evening programs], and Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of Karachi on Sunday.

The entry test, held for the academic year 2024, covered various departments including Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Applied Physics, Biotechnology, Business Administration (BBA), B.E. Chemical Engineering, Commerce, Computer Science (BSCS) and (BSSE), Criminology, Education, Environmental Studies, Food Science and Technology, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, International Relations (IR), Mass Communication, and various other programmes.

KU Admission Committee Directorate, in-charge, Dr. Saima Akhtar, said that the university has received 8,575 online admission forms for the entry test-based degree programme.

Out of these, 8,098 candidates appeared in the entry test, competing for 1,517 allocated seats across the departments. The examination took place at 22 centres across the campus.

According to her, the 100-minute-long entry test commenced at 11am and concluded at 12:40 pm. The initial list of successful candidates is scheduled to be uploaded by December 07, 2023, on the admission portal www.uokadmission.edu.pk. The entry test was conducted via the varsity's own assessment and testing service.

During the admission test proceedings, KU VC Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, Registrar Dr Abdul Waheed, Director Evening Dr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Arts and Social Sciences Dept Dean Prof Dr Shaista Tabassum, and other prominent faculty members were present.
