ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Saturday rejected a petition with the imposition of a heavy fine for submission of a fake affidavit in a land dispute case.

The court ordered the petitioner to pay Rs1 million as cost to the parties within 10 days of the issuance of the court order.

The IHC sought a report from the session judge concerned within six months, directing him to take criminal action against the petitioner for misleading the court, concealing facts and submitting a false affidavit.

The written verdict was issued by IHC Judge Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri on the petition of Shakeel Ahmed in the land dispute case which said the petitioner submitted false affidavits of co-petitioners while filing the complaint and tried to mislead the court by producing false documents.
