Official irked over ‘slow’ tax collection

Officers instructed to collect property tax, meet targets by December 31

In a surprise visit to the Excise office, the Excise and Taxation Director General Muhammad Ali directed to expedite tax collection and expressed displeasure over the performance of the motor and property branches for their failure to meet their set targets.

He instructed all officers to go into the field to expedite the collection of property tax from both commercial and domestic defaulters. Additionally, he mandated the attainment of the property and motor token tax targets by December 31, within the initial half of the current financial year.

In the meeting, Rawalpindi Division Director Imran Aslam, along with ETO officers Nazia Javed, Zohra, Sohail Shahzad, Gul Sher, and Abdul Khaliq, provided an overview of their work. DG also expressed his dissatisfaction over the poor performance of the staff of district Chakwal and issued directives to accelerate tax collection.
