1,200-plus road crashes recorded

Majority of RTCs, 74 percent, involved motorbikes

LAHORE:

At least nine people were killed and 1,216 were injured in 1,132 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) reported across all 37 districts of Punjab during the past 24 hours.

Of the injured, 556 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 660 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.

The majority of RTCs, 74 percent, involved motorbikes. Further analysis showed that 634 drivers, 43 underage drivers, 175 pedestrians and 416 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes.

The statistics show that 253 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 260 victims.
