PM Kakar, Kuwait’s crown prince agree to deepen bilateral ties

In a significant diplomatic development, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah held a meeting on Wednesday, fostering a mutual commitment to enhance bilateral relations across various domains.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Kakar emphasised the paramount importance Pakistan places on its relationship with Kuwait. He reiterated Pakistan's eagerness to broaden bilateral cooperation, spanning trade, energy, information technology, labour, minerals, and investments.

Prime Minister Kakar expressed contentment with the robust collaboration between the two nations in various international fora. He also lauded Kuwait's initiatives in recruiting Pakistani manpower, particularly in the fields of health, security, and infrastructure.

The crown prince of Kuwait reciprocated the sentiments expressed by Prime Minister Kakar, affirming Kuwait's leadership's desire to deepen and broaden the existing bilateral relations with Pakistan.

The primary agenda of the Caretaker Prime Minister's two-day official visit to Kuwait is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in multiple areas, with the aim of transforming the six-decade-long diplomatic ties into mutually beneficial economic partnerships.

Upon his arrival at Bayan Palace earlier today, Prime Minister Kakar received a guard of honour. Kuwait's Interior Minister Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah welcomed the prime minister, with a contingent of Kuwaiti static guards presenting a salute. The national anthems of both countries resonated in the air, setting a ceremonial tone for the visit.

During the visit, Prime Minister Kakar was introduced to the members of the Kuwaiti cabinet and officials. He was accompanied by a delegation of key ministers, including Interim Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar, Energy Minister Muhammad Ali, Commerce Minister Gauhar Ejaz, Climate Change Minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam, and Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
